CHRISMAN – Dale L. Carico, 90, well-known area automobile salesman whose career spanned 37 years with the former Mooney Motors of Chrisman, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Friday (Feb. 26, 2016) in the palliative care unit of the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System in Danville.
Dale was born on June 21, 1925, in Danville to Crockett and Nora Hall Carico. He married Virginia Walters on Dec. 2, 1951, in Chrisman.
She survives, as well as one son, Bob Carico; two daughters, Janet (Dale Winans) Kindred of Chrisman and Jean (Tom) Scott of Chrisman; four granddaughters, Michelle (Troy) Lunger of Chrisman, Theresa (Troy) Latoz of Georgetown, Stacey (Todd) Gosnell of Paris and Misty Terry of Turlock, Calif.; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Vera Carico and Pat Carico.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
Dale was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Chrisman and the former Broadlands Masonic Lodge 791, and a current member of Ogden Masonic Lodge 754, having been a Mason for over 60 years.
He was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Danville, Ansar Shrine Club, Chrisman American Legion Post 477 and served on the Chrisman Fire Department for 15 years.
He graduated from Sidell High School. He was drafted in 1949 and served his country in the Army.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Chrisman, with Pastor Gene Creek officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Chrisman American Legion Post 477 will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Chrisman.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Chrisman with Masonic Rites at 7:30 p.m. by the Ogden Masonic Lodge 754.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Chrisman, or the Chrisman American Legion Post 477.

DECATUR – Charles Eugene Hodge, 82, of Decatur, formerly of the Allerton area, passed away Monday (Feb. 22, 2016) at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at Joines Funeral Home, 401 W. Gillogly St., Newman, with Pastor Kathy Murphy officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery north of Newman. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday prior to the service.
Charles was born Oct. 4, 1933, in Newman, the son of Claude Elmer and Mary Ruth Brown Hodge. He married Wilma Jean Cross on Sept. 29, 1953. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Steve (Bobbi) Hodge of Broadlands and Chris (Kathy) Hodge of Champaign; two daughters, Tina (Gary) Henderson of Allerton and Mary "Cha" (Mike) Bishop of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Hodge of Mansfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
He was employed at USI in Tuscola for many years and worked on the railroad. He belonged to the Army Reserves and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and American Legion Post 71 in Urbana.
